Standing on a bridge, watching the Pembina River, which is at least 18 feet higher than normal, roaring by at jogging speed, carrying a steady flow of logs and huge branches along on its swirling, eddying surface. Watching an amazing show of power and force, as the logs crashed into each other at the foot of the concrete supports. Seeing my husband and sons lying down on the ground, heads hanging over the edge of the bridge, to get a closer look. Now that’s my idea of a great time!! Continue reading »
