PERSISTENCE:
- refusal to give up, especially when faced with opposition or difficulty
- stubborn or enduring continuance, as in a chosen course or purpose
- resoluteness; tenacity
PERSISTENCE.
Sometimes it simply means applying the Slight Edge philosophy day after day, even when it gets boring.
Sometimes it means plodding through two feet of snow, endlessly, until you feel like you’re going to collapse. And then you take a deep breath and keep on going.
November has been one continuous challenge for me. But this last week tops it all. Definitely plodding through two feet of snow.

WITH PERSISTENCE WILL COME SUCCESS – says Napoleon Hill
And that is my mantra this week. It has permeated the very fibre of my being. I know WHY I must succeed at each of these challenges. And every fibre of my being KNOWS that I WILL succeed.

Excellent post Willena,
Persistence is one of the most essential skills needed for success. Because there will always be challenges, both expected and unexpected which can test our commitment.
Without persistence we will never keep going in anything for any length of time. Because there is no such thing as an overnight success, anyone who has any level of success has persistence to support it.

Willena again a very powerful lesson. You have been doing so well. Just love your lesson plans.
Thanks, Paul. It’s also one of the toughest skills to learn, don’t you think? I would far rather be able to get ‘er done, once and for all! But the Slight Edge really is the way to go.

It will pay off eventually, Willena. Your continued persistence will definitely find what you want, if not now I’m sure it’s coming soon.
Persistence might be one of the best traits a person could have, because with all the failures and rejections in this world, we’ll all be nothing without it.

Persistence is one of the greatest things that a man needs yet it is one of the things that are always lacking. A lot of people should realize that in order to become successful you should invest blood, sweat and tears. That’s persistence. Going without stopping even things go wrong.
Thanks Tim.
This week especially is one that will stay with me for a long time. As in, when things calm down around here, and I am tempted to complain, I will remember this week and move forward with gratitude!

Chloe, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
You are so right. And even when it is painful to persevere, we are always stronger and better off for it.

Edyta, I know what you mean! I don’t have a lot of patience either. Although, I have been told I can be pretty stubborn at times. Now to apply that stubbornness in a good way, and maybe I’ll be persistent enough to reach my goals!

Hi Willena,
I can certainly relate to your post. Persistence is how we keep going. We can be motivated and excited with most projects, especially in the beginning, When I use the term “projects” I am referring to examples such as joining a new group, creating a new campaign, signing up for a new program, setting up a blogging schedule, creating a product, marketing a product etc. When the “newness” wears off, our motivation may wear off a bit. This usually happens after awhile when we don’t experience success quick enough.
It is forging ahead when unexpected situations surface. It is not giving up no matter what. It is getting through any disappointment or discouragement. We must look at these events as challenges to push through and learn. I look at all of them as “stepping stones.” Sometimes I cannot believe that I have continued to keep moving forward with what sometimes seems like “hundreds of stepping stones” and quite frankly, I’m proud of myself as you should be too! We know that Napolean Hill’s quote, WITH PERSISTENCE WILL COME SUCCESS is truth. Thanks for sharing!

“Stepping stones” sounds a little like “Slight Edge”, doesn’t it? Or each bite, taken in succession, that leads to eating the elephant. Those hundreds of stepping stones are what get us to our destination.

Hi Willena,
This is one of my favorite topics and a very important topic for our overall success.
I pride myself on my Consistency and my Persistence.
This is a discipline that is available to anyone who has the desire.
It is so important to do the things that have to be done even when we don’t feel like doing them.
It is great that you have persevered through your obstacles and continued to plow ahead.
Here is a brief passage from one of my recent posts:
“Long term, consistent success in any endeavor requires persistence. With enough persistence, anything is possible. You will find it to be a quality that is more important to your overall success than skill or knowledge or the right connections. The ability to persist is the ability to win.”
Keep inspiring us,

Well said, Marc! I have to work hard at consistency, regardless of what it is I’m doing… even with things I really enjoy. I work better in clusters… saving it for a week and then doing it all at once. That’s fine for some things, but not good at all for others.
