This is a picture of Nathaniel’s very first NaNoWriMo website badge. Unlike the regular program, where you must write 50,000 words, the Young Writers Program allows the participant to set his own goal. Nathaniel’s was 10,000 words, and tonight he reached his goal!

It’s that special, crazy, frantic, deliriously wonderful time of the year when thousands upon thousands of writers worldwide commit to writing a 50000 word novel during the month of November. Some published writers are involved, and some have become published since joining NaNoWriMo, but the vast majority are just everyday people who love to write, and want to try their hand at a long term project that may some day see print.
